Buyers’ list: The goldmine of internet marketing. Any internet marketers who has a list of over 500 buyers will tell you that.
A buyers’ list of 2,000 people is totally enough to earn you a 5 figures income a month!
That’s why nowadays the product-creation department received such a huge flock of participants, all coming in for one purpose: Building a buyers’ list, FAST. They all know that product creation is the easiest route to build a buyers’ list.
But hang on a second. Then how do you build a buyers’ list if you’re not a product creator? How do you tap into this goldmine being an affiliate marketer, for instance?
I used to think that it’s impossible. If you’re an affiliate marketer, it’s like you’re doomed to build a buyers’ list for other people, and we’re only left with a mediocre list consisting of tire-kickers and burnt out subscribers. RIGHT?
Yes, we get the commissions and all the goodies, but we are bound to repeat businesses.
Well, not anymore!
Why Build Buyers’ List As An Affiliate?
As I said above, it is extremely profitable to build a buyers’ list, so if you’re happy with just commission paychecks, you’re leaving big money on the table, my friend.
But there’s another reason why you want to build a buyers’ list, and that is list-segregation.
List segregation is simply the act of separating your prospects into different levels, based on the action they have taken.
Let’s say you have a list of 1,000 subscribers, and you’re promoting a weight-loss product to that list over a period of, let’s say, 14 days. In the process of promoting, let’s say you get 100 buyers.
What you should do is to separate those 100 buyers from the ‘fence-sitters’. By doing so, you can now treat your lists differently. The action-takers deserve better treatments, like receiving exclusive trainings and awesome contents from you, coupled with the very best product recommendations.
Remember, you only want to work with people who know, like and trust you, especially in the long run. Those people will make your business thrives, so you need give them VIP treatment as appropriate. By doing so, your buyers will keep buying from you in the future. Make sense?
So, what can you do with your ‘tire-kickers’ – those people who didn’t take action and buy?
Monetize them! Just because they missed their chance to buy from you doesn’t mean that this ‘tire-kicker’ list is wasted.
You can still leverage this list to bring in fresh visitors and grow the size of your existing list. There are some essential preparations needed to make this work, but if done correctly, you can literally double the size of your list overnight!
You can learn more about this sneaky list-building strategy here.
So, now let’s jump on the main topic!
2 Ways To Build Buyers’ List as an Affiliate
Method #1 – Presell Page Method
One way of doing this is to offer some incentives or bonuses to your list as a reward if they purchase the product you’re promoting.
To inform your subscribers about this special offer, you can simply send an email to your list and mention about the bonuses that you offer in the email. Then include a link inside, NOT directly to your affiliate sales page, but to a PRESELL page.
The concept of a presell page is simple. It is designed to entice your subscribers to take action and buy the products. The image below is an example of a presell page I set up recently (Click the image to enlarge).
Take a look at a few components of this presell page.
Then put in the image of the product you’re promoting, and a few words describing the main benefit of the product.
Below the images, this page proceeds to tell the subscribers what bonuses they’re going to gain access to. You can also throw in some PLR products, as long as you edit the content inside to make sure the contents are up to date and valuable.
Bear in mind that you want to deliver as much value as possible. Enticing people to buy with incentives is a good idea, but you want to make sure that your bonuses can bring positive changes to your subscribers.
Let your subscribers know how much value they’re getting out of their bonuses. In this example, I’m offering bonuses worth $271 in total value, when I’m promoting a $17 product here.
When people see how much value they’re getting out of the deal, they will be compelled to make a purchase.
After that you insert a call to action, and a eye-grabbing button.
BIG QUESTION: So how are we moving these buyers to a new buyers’ list?
This is how you do it. You need to tell your subscribers to email you their receipt of purchase so that you can send them the link to their bonuses.
After you confirm their purchase, you email them back with a link to a new capture page that looks somethings like this.
Yes, this capture page will put the email addresses in the new buyers’ list and remove them from your ‘fence-sitters’ list. To do this, you can easily go to GetResponse or Aweber to set the automation rule to ‘If subscribed to ___, then unsubscribe to ___’.
I know this is quite the manual way of doing things, especially if you have tons of people asking you to send the same bonus link to them. But trust me, it’s really worth the effort.
Besides, it shows people that you’re serious about your business, about delivering value to them.
Method #2 – JVZoo – GetResponse Integration
If the method above is the manual way, this one is the easy and automated way of building buyers’ list. NOTE: This only works when you’re promoting JVZoo products.
JVZoo has a special feature that set it apart from other affiliate platforms. JVZoo has a special arrangement with GetResponse so that every time someone buys the product you’re promoting, that person will be automatically added to your GetResponse list!
Pretty neat, right?
All you have to do is to sign up for an affiliate account at JVZoo, and you’ll be prompted to sign up for a GetResponse account. After that you’ll only need to get your API from GetResponse account and tell JVZoo which list you want to put your buyers into.
One word: FANTASTIC!
Those are the two methods that can help you monetize you existing list and build your profitable buyers’ list quickly. Having a buyers’ list will set you up for a long term success in your online career, so I hope you can implement the strategies laid out for you in this article.
